Graphic design
Don't deal with text translation and document graphics separately any more. We handle both with quality and efficiency. We can help you not only with the translation, but also with the graphic design of the document.
The appearance of the translated document will be identical to the original.
We can also provide graphic design of documents in less common languages and scripts (e.g. Russian, Arabic, Chinese).
We provide complete typesetting and pre-press preparation , including pre-press proofreading.
Save money: take advantage of the option to prepare the translation directly in graphics files.
Proofreading
We offer several types of proofreading for translated texts to guarantee maximum accuracy of translation.
Monolingual proofreading is the basic check of a translation text by a native speaker. It is aimed at correcting common spelling, grammatical and typographical errors and minor stylistic inaccuracies.
Bilingual proofreading compares the translation with the source text and ensures that it is checked for meaning, content and terminology. The proofreader is a specialist in the given field. The specialist terminology of the target text will match that of the original.
Pre-press proofreading is the check of the text following the graphic design stage. It is done when the source graphics documents were not available for translation. Formatting, word splitting and correct display of all characters and images are checked.
Pre-press check of the translation when source graphics documents were available for translation. This is a formal check of the translation after the graphic design stage without detailed reading.
Document printing
We prepare documents for the printer or complete the printing itself. In any quantity. Colour and black and white using high quality printers according to your requirements. We will bind the prints according to your needs.
- Simple colour printing and digital, offset and large-size document printing.
- We will tailor the pre-press preparation to your individual requirements.
- Throughout the project, you only communicate with one project coordinator.
Why is proofreading important?
In order to determine the overall process of completing the order and to ensure the appropriate quality and the optimum price of the translation, it is important to know the purpose of the translation. Depending on the purpose of the translation, we identify the style, the way of expression, the vocabulary and the length of sentences (for example, we adopt a different approach to the translation of a website, a sales catalogue, an advertising leaflet, company documentation, an article in the press for the general public or an article in a scientific journal).
Monolingual proofreading is done by a linguist and is aimed at correcting common spelling, grammatical and typographical errors and minor stylistic inaccuracies.
Bilingual proofreading is a little more complicated because the proofreader is a specialist in the field, compares the translation with the source text and checks it for meaning, content and terminology.
Skrivanek holds the EN 17100 certification and provides translations in accordance with this standard. The complete translation process according to the standard includes the following stages: translation, review (by the translator), proofreading and final review by the language coordinator.
